Green transitions
on Roskilde Festival

: design, illustration, direction, animation

Roskilde Festival is the largest music and culture event in Northern Europe with 180+ musicians, 130,000 guests every year. Dating back to 1971 the festival has become a highlight in the Danish summer for both national and international guests.

Roskilde Festival has been a pioneer in promoting sustainability, continually introducing initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint. It is initiatives such as introducing recycling systems for both trash and when buying drinks, renting instead of buying camping gear and encouraging the use of public transportation to and from the festival.

And this is where animation came in handy. With a naive and bold design combined with humorous storytelling and keyframes several animations has been created to teach, show and tell the festival goers how to be more environmental responsible when going to and being on the festival. The created animations are living on social media before the festival and on scene screens during the festival.
